...the surf. We found the surf lessons great and everyone was standing by the end of the first lesson, we were taught safety and practiced getting up on a board on the beach to start with. Surf lesson prices vary and a half day course is £25 - this includes tuition and equipment. There are also full day courses, weekend courses and six day courses. We learnt loads during our surf lessons and we also had a great time staying at the lodge - but I was ready to go home and recover - I never realised surfing was so tiring. This great surf school also does road trips to surifng in Penzance, St Ives -carbis bay, porthtowan and other great surf breaks in Cornwall.... Read review

Advantages: High rate per hour
Disadvantages: have to keep light active

...I am in two minds about this company that pays you to surf with a surf bar. The money you get per hour and the unlimited surfing hours is very good. The bar itself is quite large and not that easy to move around your screen. I am not happy with the fact that you have to be 'actively' surfing, by that I mean that you have to have your browser open to be classed as earning and actually be surfing the web. Well that's ok, we surf don't we? So let's use it while we are doing something on the web, Right? Wrong!! You have actually got to change url's every minute to keep yourself 'active'. So where's the fun in that? I have even had it running while surfing the Clickthru network, a site you have to stay at each page for up to a minute at least. I just could not keep my Spedia light 'active'. This is one bar that just does not suit me... Read review

Advantages: It's where the cool dudes go
Disadvantages: Not much else around if you are not into sitting on the beach or surfing.

...As you enter Newquay you are advised "Some of Europe's finest beaches", but which beach to go to? All the beaches in Newquaqy are sandy and large, here I take a look at Fistral. Fistral - obviously great for surfing why else would they hold the surf competitions there? Car Parking: There is a car park 'on the beach' but it obviously fills up quickly. There is quite a lot of parking areas close by. Parking is pay and display mostly, although some are free. You can get to Fistral without going through the town - head for Pentire, where there is on-road parking overlooking the beach. Shops: There is a small shop on the beach selling burgers/sandwiches/sweets/ice-creams and assorted beach goods. The Headland Hotel is right by the beach and has a small surf shop and (so long as you are smart and clean) a bar and restaurant. Misc... Read review

Advantages: Beautiful people, beautiful setting
Disadvantages: Rubbish storyline, not enough surfing

...herself time to practise surfing. The practise is needed as she wants to compete 'at pipe' ie. The pipeline masters, the biggest surfing competition there is, and the biggest killer. In fact, it's the competition and the spot that has killed more people than any other surf spot in the world put together. Of course, the fact that a woman is competing is pure fantasy as it is unusual for women to compete there. However, as ever this could not just be a surfing film to boost female surfing, and they had to add a love story, which in my opinion, completely ruined the film. It was unbelievable that the guy (matthew davis) and the girl, could fall in love, so quickly and no real love story is formed - just her, ruining her chances at pipe, by passing up surfing practise to be with him.... but will she get a hold of herself in time to realise... ...Totalise is one of the best, not only are you paid, in shares, to surf therefore negating the actual cost of the service but they are extremely reliable, fast and effective. Constantly coming up with new ideas as part of their company the shares really do have some value. I signed up to the ultimate surf package a while ago, £235 for 2 yrs of surfing, 100 hrs a month til January then 24/7 thereafter, Given close to £400 worth of shares when you sign, Can't ask for anything more can you? Not any of these NTL connection problems. Had it over 2 months now and has connected perfectly ever since. This ISP IS the best and the company is going somewhere, sign up now is what I say.... ...Unique surf are another company in the long line of pay you to surf companies. They will pay you monthly as long as you earn at least $100.00 for international users. They quote a figure of at least 70% of their revenue as a payout its calculated at the end of the month. The bar is well designed and can be shrunk it takes up around half the screen when running at 1280 x 1024. The bar is stable and runns without affecting anything else. The main advantage of unique surf is that they pay you for unlimited hours, lets hope the pay rate is near the 70 cents an hour used in the example.... Read review

Advantages: solely for girls interested in surfing
Disadvantages: US magazine

...Up until now only the male population got a look into the surf scene. With only giving the girls supplement space in Surfing Magazine. So now its official - girl power has hit the newsstands (I have only seen it so far in W H Smith) with Surfing Girl magazine. Imported from the States and priced at £2.50 this magazine is not a bad read. The idea of a magazine specifically for girl surfers is worth a look. The 130 pages are all dedicated to surfing mainly it has to be said in the US. It would be nice to see something about surfing in the UK but it is only the first edition. Perhaps the North Cornish Sea is not blue enough for them? Their feature this month is swimwear, which takes up pages and pages, with a neat four-page section of just small pictures of swimwear along with prices and stockists. ...This game has aimed for the people who are into board games like ssx and tony hawks. Transworld Surf, easily the most graphically impressive and by large most enjoyable surfing game to be released yet. Though it uses several conventions laid down by both Tony Hawk and SSX, Transworld Surf offers a unique gameplay experience. Your surfer can perform a variety of wave-face tricks, lip tricks, and aerial tricks. The graphics look really impressive as you pull some of these tricks off. Each surfer also has a special trick that can be executed only after you've filled up your trick meter, which is done by pulling off big combos. Like most surf games before it, Transworld Surf has a pretty steep learning curve, and you'll want to spend a lot of time honing your skills before you jump into the meat of the game. For those who dont know about surfing, riding waves lying down or standing on long, hardwood surfboards was an integral part of Hawaiian culture way back in 1779. Surfboard riding was as layered into the society, religion and myth of the islands as baseball is to the modern United States. Chiefs demonstrated their mastery by their skill in the surf, and commoners made themselves famous (and infamous) by the way they handled themselves in the ocean. ...I have just noticed “Unique Surf.com” in the categories, and had to write in about this pathetic excuse for a paid to surf company. I signed up back in November, after being strongly recommended this program by some American lad. Anyway alls I can say is “Don’t bother with Unique Surf.com”, they are a complete waste of time. Firstly when you sign up you give the various details i.e. Name, Address, etc, then you download their Pay bar (this takes quite a while to download), once you download this Pay Bar you install it, that’s when the problems start. Upon installing the Unique Surf Pay bar, it informed me that several files (nothing whatsoever to do with Unique surf) where out of date and needed updating (my computer is actually well updated with the latest DirectX files, DLL’s, etc) well...
