The pulse of Sydney!
Review of Travelodge, Sydney by
nat23y
Advantages: Location, Price, facilities
Disadvantages: none
...The Travelodge Sydney is one of the best value 3 star hotels in Sydney City Centre.
Location
This hotel is perfectly located a stones throw away from the action; a mere block away from Oxford St where you will find funky cafes, restaurants, Sydney's best choice of late bars for the clubbers among you and great shopping.
Other nearby attractions
Pitt Street Mall which is renowned for its shopping is less than a kilometre away as is Darling Harbour, the rocks, the opera house and the harbour bridge. Sydney City Centre isn't really that big so you can get to any of these plus other major attractions by foot although the hotel reception was always happy to book us taxis when we went out at night (and all the cab drivers knew where the hotel was when we were trying to find our way back there after a night out on the champas!)

Scream Louder!
Review of Scream 2 (Wide Screen) by
pizzacat
Advantages: Great Cast and strong writing
Disadvantages: lack of originality of first movie
...Wes is back again with the second instalment is the Scream trilogy. The survivors of the original are back. Sydney (Campbell) is now in college and trying her darndest to forget what happened to her a year ago. She is a theatre major with a new crew of friends including survivor Randy (Jamie Kennedy) and things seem to be going fine. Meanwhile Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) has cashed in on Sydney’s story by publishing a book and a movie ironically called Stab, about Sydney's "horror story". The movie within the movie stars Heather Graham of Boogie Nights as Casey (Drew Barrymore) and the appealing (ugh) Tori Spelling as Sydney. While Gale is basking in the buckaroo's it seems the story isn’t over. Jada Pinkett puts on Barrymore's shoes as the fataled femme in the opening sequence. Although she tries her hardest she doesn’t match...

Room with a view - and then some!
Review of Harbourside Apartments, Sydney by
jim25glen
Advantages: The most spectacular views of Sydney Bridge, Opera and harbour.
Disadvantages: No restaurant, not cheap.
..., a regular ferry service runs to via Luna Park (North Sydney's Theme Park) to Circular Quay - the hub of Sydney's transport system, and only a few minutes' walk from the Opera, the Rocks, and many other popular tourist destinations.
As well as views to die for, what else do you get at the Harbourside Apartments? Well, there are studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom flats to choose from. All the 2-bedroom flats have views over the harbour - and the higher the floor you are on, the better the view (from memory, I think there are about 14 floors). Each apartment is very well equipped, including cable TV, CD player (and fluffy bathrobes). They have a daily maid service. The website (www.harboursideapartments.com.au) describes Harbourside as a hotel, but it's probably more akin to self-catering accommodation. Each apartment has a well-equipped kitchen area...

A Dream Come True (SYDNEY)
Review of Sydney (Australia) by
LukeyBoy
Advantages: Great Tourist Attractions, Nice Beaches, Hot, Cheaper in some places than the UK
Disadvantages: Long Flight, Not easy to get around
...Since I was a teenager I had always wanted to tour Australia, and finally as I hit 18 I booked my first visit to Sydney. From the minute I stepped on Emirates Airlines I was satisfied. It was a fabulous, unforgettable experience.
I flew from London Heathrow to Sydney and spent three weeks staying in Hotel InterContinental Sydney, which was probably the most expensive but luxiourus hotel I have ever stayed in. I spent the first two or three days relaxing at the hotel, going to it's gym, the pool and having a look around the city.
We spent the time looking at the tourist attractions, including The Sydney Opera House, where we dined and watch a production, which was absoultey spectacular, we did a Captain Cook Dinner cruise around the Sydney harbour which had a tasty menu, which we enjoyed and ofcourse I could not leave Sydney without...

Great for a short break
Review of Pacific International Hotel, Sydney by
Joll
Advantages: Close to Central Station and within walking distance of most attractions.
Disadvantages: No views.
...My husband and I recently spent four days at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at how near the hotel is to Central Station. There is no need to get a taxi, it took 5 minutes to walk. The hotel is in an old listed building, which is decorated in the Art Deco style. Our room was quite small but was clean and had everything you would expect from a four star hotel. The only downside was that we did not have a view, but this didn't really bother us as we were out most of the time and only came back to sleep.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the cooked breakfast was excellent. There is a car park in the basement which we used for one night, at a charge, although the spaces are a little tight.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay there again. Great value for money....

MY AUSTRALIAN ADVENTURE
Review of General: Australia by
SARL
Advantages: Beautiful Scenery, Loads to do, Brilliant adventure
Disadvantages: Big Cities were no child friendly, nor were the people.
...) a brilliant place we actually stayed for 2 nights and contemplated staying longer ifonly we had the time..
**BRISBANE**
So we were back in the big smoke, well not quite but we were back in the city. As far as the Cities went i liked Brisbane not quite as snooty as Sydney and more relaxed and easy going, in saying that it was still a city and catered only for adults so as we found again Cities and kids don't mix so it was back to the hotel for a couple of drinks and bed. What we did get to see of Brisbane was nice and alot friendlier than Sydney so its one of the Cities i would revisit yeh!!
**BARGARA**
Now we're talkin.... An appartment on the beach, a huge rock pool to swim in that was safe for the kids, it was wonderful. If i was to criticise it would be that the town was a little (yocal) but they were amazingly friendly. With two golf...

Known by One Name Only - Excellence
Review of Alias - Series 1 (Wide Screen) by
heroesanddemons
Advantages: Brilliant new concept, excellent storylines
Disadvantages: Occasionally too quick-fire speech
...place and ends (metaphorically at least) in a completely different, but equally as powerful place.
Firstly my hat goes off to Jennifer Garner, who's performance of Sydney Bristow brings the entire series together. To be able to pull off action scenes, making it believable she's kicking some booty, before sailing into a sad and moving scene, she really shows talent to become a well-remembered star for years to come. Along side her with have her two friends, Francine and Will, who bring the home life aspect into the show, a warmth that many other shows and films in the spy-genre actually lack. We see Sydney as not only some mythical hero, but also as a person, grieving for a life she's missing out on.
The storyline begins with Sydney Bristow, an agent of SD-6, a covert branch of the CIA, learning that she is in fact working for a terrorist...

Pure high kicking entertainment - a must see!
Review of Alias: First Season Box Set by
mummy2harry
Advantages: Fun, great acting, fab storylines, brilliant show
Disadvantages: Not enough episodes!
...My mother first pointed this out in a TV Guide to me, and my reaction was not another typical Amercain "Spy Drama", I really wasn't all that interested. I was at home when the first episode aired and with the first part, I was totally hooked. I have to admit to feeling pretty stupid when afterwards I was gushing about how fab it was! Thats I bought the first boxset, and I haven't looked back! Now to my review...
*The Show*
The show stars the versatile and talented actress Jennifer Garner, someone I had never heard of before the show. She plays the shows lead character Sydeny Bristow, a young Spy who believes she's working for the US Government. But all is not as it seems!
Sydney makes clear from the start of the show she and father do not get along, and it is intersting to watch the different dynamics of this relationship as both...

Sydney Marriott hotel... the best i've ever seen!
Review of Marriott Hotel, Sydney by
moo_trendy_cow
Advantages: You can see the most amazing view of the harbour.
Disadvantages: it is a bit pricey, but it's absolutely worth it!
...the picture so it looked more appealing...
We couldn't be more wrong, when we arrived at the airport we got a car to the hotel, and I had never seen a better hotel location in ma life, it was exactly like the picture, maybe even better because I was really there, I got so excited, and Sydney has to be the best place for a holiday!
I've still kept the brochure to this day, so I can tell you alot about it:
- it has an amazing 32 floors
- it has 508 rooms
- and 48 suites
- it has a great little restaurant, which you can get the best food!
- it has a very nice little coffee shop
- 24 hour room service
- gift shops
- cable/ satelite, minifridges, full kitchens in some rooms, phones (can make international calls) and many more!
- spa, indoor pool, solarium, health club, sauna, massage rooms, jogging, tennis, squash, beach, sailing, water- skiing, jet...
