...I am a Vegetarian but one place that I love to visit on the Island of Tenerife is Tenerife Pearl. I rarely buy pearls due to how they are obtained but I love to look around Tenerife Pearl. ...Tenerife..Paradise Found,Well that's my opinion anyway. I believe Tenerife is one of those places, that you either love or you hate. I have heard many varied opinions from friends and family, some good and some bad. I would now like to give you my own opinion on Tenerife. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and its's location, just off the north coast of Africa, gives it a fabulous year round climate. Tenerife is very much an Island of contrasts. In the south, which is known as the sunny side you will find the more well known resorts which include Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos, the landscape is very baron and dry. Advantages: Amazing wildlife and shows
Disadvantages: Long journey depending on where your staying

...Loro Parque is probably the best attraction on the Canary Island of Tenerife. Although the journey via coach from Puerto de Santiago took a tiring 3 and a bit hours to Puerto de la Cruz, it was well worth it. I would strongly recommend watching all of the shows around the park such as the sealions, whales, dolphins and the parrots. The dolphin and whale shows were amazing and I must admit that they topped those of Sea World, Orlando, Florida. Loro Parque meaning "Parrot Park" in Spanish lives up to the name as the park is based around the hundreds of different parrots they own. If you are on holiday to Tenerife, do not hesistate to visit this park. With animals ranging from penguins to tigers to gorillas, it truly is somewhere to visit as it is a brilliant place for families, couples, groups of friends or even by yourself. Do not miss... Advantages: Sun all day, Party all night!
Disadvantages: People that try and sell you fake stuff on the beach

...I went to Las Americas, which is situated in the south of the Island where it is the hottest.Most Hotels and Apartments are not far from the beach where there are shops all the way along the side. At night the best place to go is Veronicas, which is a strip about 1 mile long full of pubs and clubs. I would advise anyone going to Tenerife to ignore the guys that go about on Mopeds, they offer All Inclusive nights out for about £20, but it is just a total con.... Read review

...When I mention Tenerife as an ideal Holiday people quite often frown. I think that this is due to the fact that everyone imagines Tenerife as consisting of one town Playa De Las Americas. Most people see this town as full of lager louts and to be honest of a night time they are right. Tenerife however is more than Veronica's party strip. Los Cristianos is just 5 mins away from Playa de las Americas. This op is going to be more of a general overview of Tenerife itself but obviously with a few recommendations. With an all year climate temperatures in May to October, can reach 30 degrees and in the winter a gentle but pleasant 18 degrees. General retail prices are cheaper than the UK especially cigarettes and alcohol. Use a high factor sun cream, sun hat and take something to cover up with. You can burn in ten minutes popping out... ...Don't know where to go on holiday this year??? Well, why not try the best of the Canary Islands - TENERIFE. For those who like to party we have the south of the Island (Playa de las Americas), and those who prefer the quieter holiday we have the north. Tenerife is hot all year round which is great for those who want to top up their tan! When I was there in April last year I was lucky enough to go on a coach tour to the popular tourist attraction of Mount Teide (where Planet of the Apes was filmed). I didn't realise it would be so cold up there, so I would advise you to take a jacket. There was an excellent variety of water sports that were not too expensive (only if u can swim unlike myself). For those party animals like myself, there are excellent clubs and pubs. A few I would recommend are BobbY's Soul Train... Read review

...Whilst in Tenerife last July (2000) our daughter aged 2 and a half at the time learnt to swim. Having harped on about buying a Camcorder before going on holiday we decided to have a look in Tenerife as they can work out cheaper. We visited a small family run shop called "Shriram" in San Eugenio and paid around £250 for the Camcorder, 3 spare taped, battery charger etc and had many a free item i.e strap, carry bag, Lens protector etc and found it a really good buy. When we came home we found that we had saved in the region of £120. The lady in the above shop was so helpful, her English was better than mine and the amount of time she spent looking for the right Camcorder was unbeliveable. I can't imagine the staff at our local Currys/Comet being that helpful. The Camcorder that we bought wasn't the same model number as the one you buy... Read review

...I have been to Tenerife twice, once to a complex (Ten Bel) at 'Costa del Silencio' and once to Las Americas. The complex was good, everything that we needed was there including about 7 swimming pools! One pool was right by the sea, and the waves came over into the pool which was pretty cool. It was November when we went and was really warm and sunny. This Easter we went to Las Americas and stayed at the Guayarmina Princess which was an absolutely gorgeous hotel. There is a market near this hotel on a Thursday and a Saturday which I would recommend. I found a wonderful 'fashion show' there where you could buy cheap clothes from Dorothy Perkins and other well known shops. I got a dress for £8 and a pair of shorts for £4, so pretty cheap! Tenerife is a great holiday destination for both young and old... I suppose the only down side... Read review

Advantages: lovely weather, fun!

...Tenerife is so diverse. In the north of the island you are greeted with lush foilage and a quiet more laid back atmosphere. To the south and the notorious Playa region, the landscape is stark and outrageously built up. Having recently visited for one week and experiencing both sides of the island, I was pleasantly surprised. Our resort at Puerto de la Cruz (Northside) was a quite fishing town with some restuarants and bars and a couple of black sandy beaches. Not bad for couples and families with small kids although the sand lovers are not their primary concern. To the south, with it's imported golden sand, McDonalds and Body Shop, you know the Brit's abroad are well and truly catered for. The menus scream English breakfast with chips and the locals are notoriously scouser! Do both and have a riot in Tenerife. It caters for all... Read review

...I went on hiliday with my folks this August and I got there and everything was fine and I was looking forward to my holiday. It was the second time I had been. On the first whole day we had in Tenerife I thought I'd try my luck on a 3-card trick game. He just practically took my money without me placing a bet and when I turned away and back again, he had gone. They always travel in crowds, about 6 at a time and they are always in on it. When they shout "Come on" or "It's this one, I'm sure" you have to know that they are working with the one doing the tricks. They have never lost any money and will never because thay are cheats. I get angry with myself just thinking about it. It was lucky that I only lost about 30 pounds otherwise it could have been disasterous. So I'm just warning you holiday-goers to never NEVER try at those kind... Read review
