Titanic OST
Review of Titanic: Original Soundtrack by  berlioz

Advantages: A very classy Horner soundtrack
Disadvantages: Overplayed by today

...Winning a grand total of 11 Oscars, James Cameron's Titanic was THE cinematic event of 1997. The 3½ -hour epic love story between a high society girl Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) and the poor artist Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and set on board one of the greatest seafaring disasters of all time, created immense critical and popular acclaim, both for the incredible visuals (they practically rebuilt the Titanic in scale), the historical accuracy and for a story that made many girls swoon and cry at the theatres (and why not even a few guys). For me the story was a little too run of the mill to create much of an impression, but I have to respect the technical side of the film, with the details of the ship, it's passengers, certain scenes, and the final sinking, making it one of the most accurate depictions of the Titanic disaster... Titanic - Why I fell in Love with this Film
Review of Titanic DVD by  phoenixgreen

Advantages: A dramatic story, beautifully told with great attention to detail.
Disadvantages: Long, and is guaranteed to make you cry. A lot.

...Titanic 1997 A story beyond compare Director : James Cameron Kate Winslet Leonardo De Caprio Music by James Horner and Gaelic Storm Winner of 11 Academy Awards Basic synopsis: Rose is a rich, unhappy 1st class passenger, Jack is a poor but happy steerage passenger, and they come together across the divide of their social postitions in life, on a ship we all know sinks. Will they make it? Will love survive the icy waters of the Atlantic? It's a journey they take against the backdrop of the most famous ship in the world. My love affair with this film. In 1997 I stood in a cinema queue at the Odeon, round the corner from Lime Street Station, in Liverpool, and held my breath for a movie I had been waiting my whole life to see. Well, I held my breath. I had no idea then that the film I was about to see would have... Read review

Titanic Deluxe Collectors Edition (4 discs)
Review of Titanic (Special Edition) by  kevincopham

Advantages: Adtional deleted scenes, alternative ending, commentaries, documenturies and much more
Disadvantages: Film on 2 discs, deleted scenes and alternative ending seperate from film

...Received this as a Christmas present, which is James Cameron's classic 1997 film with lots of extras thrown in for good measure. The film basically is another telling of the Titanic disaster in 1912 where over 1500 people lost their lives after the Titanic hit an iceberg and sank. It opens with a deep sea exploration of the Titanic in search of the "Heart of the Ocean" gem. After retrieving a safe all that was found was a drawing of Rose (Kate Winslett) wearing the gem. The now old Rose sees a feature about this on the television and joins the team on the exploration of the Titanic. Whilst aboard the research ship she tells her story on the Titanic, where she boards at Southampton with her fiancé Cal (Billy Zane) for their passage to America. At the same time Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) wins his passage to America in a game of cards... Read review

TITANIC WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTON AND THIS IS WHY
Review of Titanic DVD by  emu128

Advantages: Great film, sad but true
Disadvantages: Too sad

...After reading another opinion on the film 'TITANIC' this morning I thought I'd inspire myself and do the same. Somewhere in the families deep collection of videos is the 1997 classic, TITANIC. After watching many films about TITANIC, year after year I never realised that the best was yet to come. When it hit the cinema screens about 5 years ago now, I didn't go and see it, instead waited for the video. I got it on my birthday and remember watching it many many times. The first time I watched it was the saddest time, but each and every time after that it was still named the saddest film I'd ever watched. The video that I have was released in 1997 and was produced by James Cameron. The TRUELY based story about the Titanic sinking is so like what was of supposed to of happened that night on the 15th April in 1912 that it's unreal... Read review

TITANIC THE SHIP OF DOOM
Review of Titanic DVD by  broksababe

Advantages: A classic film packed with every emmotion you can think of
Disadvantages: based on real life disaster

...Having just dug out my copy of Titanic and watching it yesterday for the umpteenth time, I decided to share my thoughts with you all on this magical classic. Released on video in 1997 it was the masterpiece of James Cameron and was soon to be one of the most memorable films of all time, well in my opinion anyway. A film packed to overflowing with enough emotion and heart tearing scenes to last you a lifetime. The Original Titanic sank on April 15th 1912, resulting in a loss of an astounding 1500 lifes. Mainly due to the fact that the design was badly flawed and the ridiculous lack of lifeboats installed. The film Titanic is a loosely based adaptation of the horrendous maiden voyage of the fated vessel. A ship that was the first of its kind, a ship that offered optism, hopes, beauty and of course dreams. Rose (Kate Winslet... Read review

RMS TITANIC RIP
Review of Titanic - An Illustrated History - Don Lynch by  RICHADA

Advantages: Superb Illustrations. Definitive Text. My Favourite - if not the Best Book on this Subject.
Disadvantages: A Slightly Predictable Read!

...Regrettably book reviews are not really my "thing" - neither the writing, nor indeed, the reading of them. However, with this review - so familiar is the story that it contains - it would be difficult for me to mess it up, by either revealing too many details, or indeed by telling you how the story ends. I am sure that all of you reading this, will have heard of the Titanic and seen at least one film, drama or otherwise, or TV documentary about that (in)famous ship. Truth be known, RICHADA is not much of a book worm, although I do have, to me at least, an interesting collection of books. Seven out of ten in my collection have some connection with merchant shipping, more specifically, Ocean Liners, at a rough estimate, two out of every seven are to do with the Titanic and her two Sister ships - the Olympic and Britannic. Indeed... Read review

* The Ship Of Dreams *
Review of Titanic DVD by  xdonzx

Advantages: Great storyline , Leonardo Di Caprio , Great effects
Disadvantages: none

...TItanic is a 1997 film directed by James Cameron based on the true tragic story of the Unsinkable ship ; Titanic. The Titanic was a ship sailing from Liverpool (United Kingdom) across the North Atlantic to New York. However on April 14th 1912 , when crossing the Atlantic Ocean , the unsinkable ship hit an iceburg. This caused the ship to sink. There were approx 2,227 passengers aboard the Titanic. * Titanic - the film * Although the actual film is based on a true story , the actual romantic storyline of the film was not true. * Some of the Characters * Jack Dawson - ( Leonardo Di Caprio ) A 20 year old American with no family. He's very poor and is a keen artist. He has no home and travels from place to place. He won his ticket onto the titanic in a game of cards. Rose DeWitt Bukater - ( Kate Winslet ) Rose is a 17... Titanic 2 The Quest For The Truth
Review of Titanic DVD by  willgould

Advantages: Some good moments.
Disadvantages: Americanisation of a tragedy.

...Nobody told me I’d have to sit still for three hours when I went to see Titanic. The only other films that long that I actually enjoyed were Schindlers List and Lord Of The Rings. What made Titanic so special that it thought it could waste everyone’s time like that? Yes it may be considered a classic now, and yes I may be tempting fate by criticising it but I’m going to do it anyway. The fact that it is the highest grossing film of all time is neither here nor there, it only made so much because smitten teenage girls went to see it fifteen times. The makers of Titanic proved two things 1: Hollywood can’t tell a story like it happened and 2: Talent is secondary to looks. It wouldn’t have been such an insult if the true story was told, but out of a million dollar budget, one of the best stories ever and a competent director all we got... Read review

Titan A.E. - World Destruction
Review of Titan A.E. (Wide Screen) (DVD And CD-Rom) by  goku1st

Advantages: Great Special FX (World Blowing Up)
Disadvantages: Slightly Confusing.

...This is the film i put on every night when i go to bed, At the moment, (when Stormbreaker comes on DVD, thats gonna replace it) I dunno why i put it on. It's the year 3028 and te Drej are planning on Destroying the Human race as they are afraid on what we might become. Who knows, for all we know, we might become mutants that can kill anything. That was an example :l Couldn't think of anything better. Got summit better, say it. ANYWAY... Young Cale (a boy roughly aged 4-7 and is FANTASTIC at inventions) is in the forest. His Father turns up and tells him 'It's time to leave' They get to the space ship where they are meant to go on. Until, Cale finds out his Father has to leave him for 'A While' and travel on the Titan. He gives him his ring and leaves him with Teck. Nobody knows what the Titan is or does. Except a few. His Father... Read review

Titanic the best film of the last years
Review of Titanic DVD by  GermanGuillotine

Advantages: great story,soundtrack and film
Disadvantages: -

...Hello, iam a german pupil wants to get a better english with writing here, would be happy about comments. TITANIC: Oh how great, never in the film histroy before a film was so expensive to produce, just for this film they rebuild the original titanic with all things in it like beds, sport room and 1st class deck. Thats a big reason why so much people went into this film just to be able to say "i was in it". So i went to this film in germany, too of course, the suprise was that i didnt know if Leonardo Di Caprion(in the film he is Jack) will die on the titanic or if he can rescue. STORY: The Story is easy to understand, the biggest ship ever build till 1912 had his first real tour over the atlantic ocean from england to america, New York. The Film starts at the shipdock in England were thousands of people wanted to have a look... Read review
