London Docklands- Very High standards
Review of Travel Lodge, Docklands Hotel, London by

Advantages: Tube station 1 min walk away
Disadvantages: Difficult to find
...over the carpark, other wise your views not nice of a busy road which can be quit noisy. The car park side is less noisy and better views.

Price:
We paid on our last visit £56 per night for a family of 4. Rooms are cheaper at the weekends than midweek, ideal for a family trip to London.
Also if you visit there website some dates at the moment are only £26 per night, per room.

Look out for Travelodge deals
Review of Travelodge London Covent Garden,, London by
007addict
Advantages: Location, and the breakfast
Disadvantages: Expensive and very basic, small rooms
...I stayed here in August 2007 and it cost us £15 a night per room. Everyso often travelodge do these deals on their website, but you have to check them fairly often as once they come out they get sold out quickly. The normal price is £95 per room and at this price I would not have been happy with the room, central London or not. In total we had 3 rooms between us (each was the same price) and each varied. One of the three had a bath while the others just had a shower (extremely powerful though). My double room was very, very small. There was literally just enough room for a standard double bed and two side cabinents, the usual slim sideboard with just enough space to walk between that and the bed and a tiny wardrobe at the end. The shower room had a loo and sink and was clean. The standard tea and coffee was there...

Cheap thrills
Review of Travelodge London Battersea, London by
badongism
Advantages: Cozy rooms, great service, fantastic value
Disadvantages: Can be a bit noisy outside
...As part of a 7 night stay in London, my colleague and I stayed in 3 hotels across London to take advantage of the Travelodge £19 a night deal.
I'm a regular user of Travelodge hotels and I like to think I know a fair bit about hotel standards, having been a housekeeper for 2 years. Travelodge is an openly no-frills hotel chain. They widely promote the fact that they don't provide things such as toiletries, hairdryers and the like because people don't usually need them, and it means they can keep costs down. So what you get for your money is a very basic but very clean and modern hotel room for a low price. I think this is the ideal setup - if you're staying in a hotel, it's because you need somewhere to sleep in between your travels. I stayed in The George hotel in Edinburgh and it was so nice I didn't want to leave, which cut...

Traffic Dodge at Travelodge
Review of Travelodge London Battersea, London by
trevorbrock
Advantages: Brilliant prices at present
Disadvantages: A bit of a walk from the station
...I need to be in London three or four times a year, and have yet to find someone who will give me free bed and board! - any offers?? - So each visit involves a scouring of flight times and costs, followed by an online hunt for cheap accomodation.
Travelodge at Battersea in November was quite a find, and I've already booked for the next two visits - so how's that for a recommendation - not that everything was perfect - but I'll explain a bit later.
1 Location
************
Online maps of the area on the Travelodge Site were only marginally helpful in pinpointing the hotel's location. And knowing that the address was 200 York Road was only partially helpful. Neither spelled out the quickest route from Clapham Junction Railway Station.
The hotel is siutated about 7 minutes walk away - so long as you choose the right exit from the station...

No Queue at Kew
Review of Travelodge London Kew Bridge, London by
trevorbrock
Advantages: Quiet location and great value on the special offers
Disadvantages: It is basic lodge accomodation
...which were being constantly renewed, and piping hot.
My only problem was an over-enthusiastic table-clearer who removed my coffee, roll and marmalade in the brief time I took to get some toast done.! It meant that I had to go back and reload all over again.
3 Location, location, location.
For those who specially want a stay in the Kew area, this is perfect.
It is about a quarter of a mile from the railway station, on a bus route and has car parking available.
Likewise, for those who need to be in the general south London area for work or pleasure, it is a quiet, pleasant area alongside the river, just a short walk from Kew Bridge.
For those who intend to party all night, and stagger home to your room a short distance from your choice of West End club, Kew is not a great idea.
My already-alluded-to complaint was that I took the underground...

Trevor's Lodge
Review of Travelodge London Covent Garden,, London by
trevorbrock
Advantages: Great when on offer
Disadvantages: It's not the Ritz
...per room per night. I have not seen Covent Garden offered at this price yet, and that suggests that Covent Garden is full enough most of the time not to need the super-saver approach.
Many rooms are offered across the brand at Saver rates of £26 per room per night.
My recent stay at Covent Garden fell into this category.
Frankly, at this price, no critique of the hotel could ever conclude that it was poor value.
To get that price, I did have to book a few months in advance; I did need to want the room in November in a slack part of the season.
And I did have to pay at the time of booking and accept that it was completely non-refundable.
Until someone offers me a room in London for less than that when I am over for Board meetings, I will stick with Travelodge and sing their praises.
If you do not manage a Saver deal, then you could end up...

I'VE FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
Review of Travelodge London Kings Cross, London by
nathaninnit
Advantages: Checkin was needlessly annoying
Disadvantages: Apparently doest bookout, as just experienced with a test booking
...that was needed to be done was be given a keycard for the room. Wow, a swipe card system - that's a step up from the keys I am used to at my old Travelodge as well. I can't say I honestly remember if there was an, "Enjoy your stay," but I know there was a "Your rooms on the first floor." The room cost £85, plus a £1 charge as insurance if I wanted to cancel the room, I'm not exactly sure why I took that out but 100p can't hurt too much. When you consider that only works out as just over £20 each, and the location of Travelodge Kings Cross it is actually pretty reasonable. On the other hand, if I was staying in that Travelodge on my own and had to pay the same price I would feel ripped off.
I honestly don't know London at all, I don't go there on a regular basis and have barely been there since I was a young kid. This made me quite amazed at how much...

London Mercure - just what the doctor ordered!
Review of Mercure London City Bankside, London by
Luvlylana
Advantages: Very close to Tate Modern, and Southwark tube station
Disadvantages: Located on the other side of the river from the likes of Oxford Street
..., especially with it being a Sunday when things tend not to stay open quite as long. Once again we received great service and were offered the opportunity to leave our luggage with the hotel so we could go off and enjoy our day. We didn't make use of this offer however as we had travelled light and just taken backpacks with us.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning to spend some time in London as although it may appear a little far out, it is about a 5-10 minute walk to Southwark tube station, and is of sound quality. I think it either has 2 or 3 stars, but it is one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed in, and I was really impressed with the service we received. The hotel had all we needed for our short stay, and was much more appealing than staying a Holiday Inn or Travelodge. I'm sure we will be staying at the Mercure again...

Location, location, location
Review of Travelodge London Ilford, London by
natty250
Advantages: Ideally situated for easy travel into London
Disadvantages: Unfriendly staff, basic amenities
...For my 21st birthday my partner took me to London for 2 nights and 3 days, primarially to go and see "We Will Rock You" at the Dominion Theatre. London is not a cheap place to visit, and we are currently operating on a reasonably tight budget, so we wanted something that wasn't too expensive to get to, and that was of a good enough quality for 2 nights, yet was cheap. After a lot of searching around on places like laterooms.com among others we came accross this Travelodge.
< Travelodge, The Company >
Travelodge is the UK's fastest growing hotel chain, and currently operate 318 UK hotels (with more in Spain and Ireland). Quoting from their website they say "At Travelodge, the Hotel revolution doesn't stop with just the price. We've carefully designed our hotels to give you all the things you need without having to pay for things you...

Lying In At Liverpool Street
Review of Travelodge London City, London by
trevorbrock
Advantages: Location and cost
Disadvantages: Not everyone likes Travelodge
...Travelodge used to be a moderately priced, sedate brand that you could spot on or near motorways, catering for the family on their way to grandmas, or the business traveller saving a few pounds on the normal hotel rate.
Things have changed, and the brand now can be found in 316 locations with more coming along at the rate of about 20 per year.
Many are far from the motorways, and more of them, like the Liverpool Street one, are in City centres.
1 Location
++++++++
Location in London , may not seem all that critical to the occasional visitor. After all, you can always hop on a bus, or catch a nearby tube.
Having used other hotels in Vauxhall and Clapham, I have discovered it is not just as easy as that. Choose badly and you might have to wheel your Gucci look-alike case several hundred yards from the nearest public transport link...
