...OK so my son calls me a tree hugger, but I can live with that. I am celebrating the fact that Walsall Counil are finally starting to get their act together and are beginning to do a bit for the environment by encouraging residents to recycle more of their household waste. For many years now there have been a large number of sites around the borough where it has been possible to take your newspapers, glass and clothing for recycling,but until very recently Walsall Council have done very little to reduce the amount of waste taken to landfill sites by collecting recyclable materials from homes. First came the brown bin scheme - A big brown dustbin was delivered to some houses in the borough to enable their green garden waste to be collected for recycling. Advantages: My local club, some great memories, never a dull moment

...Football. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the few contexts where one man is allowed to joyously embrace another in a public place without causing any stirs or strange looks. For a man, seeing his favourite team score a vital goal is perhaps as it is for a woman after she has been presented with a giant 2kg bar of Galaxy chocolate - you won't get the grin off her face for a good few hours and she'll be in a good mood with you for well … at least well … a few hours anyway ;). A few weeks ago, my brother and I were listening to the Walsall match away at Grimsby - a result here was vital and if we lost tit it could more or less certainly mean a return to the second division for The Bescot Boys (Ciao already have them in the 2nd division - hah! ...This is my first opinion in quite a while now, and I have had to take a break recently due to me having an on-going battle with my computer's floppy drive. Despite my best efforts involving changing cables, disks and even nicking parts from my brother's computer, the damn thing still refuses to work. Craig is not a happy bunny. However I intend to solve the problem soon and will no doubt be at it again tomorrow with renewed vigour - even if the process includes a large hammer and a magnet, the thing will work eventually. But anyway, enough of my random ramblings, let's start to talk about something more relevant. Advantages: Good shops

...their way. The people are so unpleasant; I accidentally bumped into one man, said I was sorry and thought I was going to get my head ripped off! The actual town in itself would not be that bad if it wasn't for the people. The buildings I think are quite old and do give a nice sense of tradition to the town. The market is just like any other market in the world, if you need something cheap and cheerful, then this is the place for you. The let down of Walsall really is because of the people in it, this being the litter. There are probably hundreds of bins around Walsall and still I saw people just dropping their litter to the ground just because a two foot walk is a bit much for them. One of my pet peeves also comes to haunt me in this town that being the amount of cigarette butts on the ground. It doesn't look pleasant; it looks disgusting... Read review
