Review of Marriott Denia La Sella Golf Resort & Spa, Denia by
hillkid
Advantages: Rooms, location overall experience
Disadvantages: Food, recreation, killjoy lifeguard!
...We stayed at the Marriott Denia for 10 days towards the end of July 07. There were 4 in our party 2 adults and 2 boys (11 and 9 yrs old). If you have every stayed at the Son Antem Marriott in Majorca, you will be disappointed,
as it is nowhere near as good! Having said that, we still had a fantastic time. I think it's best to point out the good and bad points. All of the faults could be rectified very easily. Firstly, the service is the normal high quality you would expect from a Marriott, they still struggle to cope at the bar in the evenings but no real bother. The pool is nice, not heated but clean. The female lifeguard was a nightmare, I think she must have come from a Health and Safety background. When she was off duty, it was much more enjoyable! I believe several guests complained about her . There wan't enough for the kids...

Championship Golf..or Heavenly Spa?
Review of De Vere Carden Park, Chester by
helencbradshaw
Advantages: Great value for money, something for everyone, staff were all very professional
Disadvantages: None
...It was part business, part leisure that took me to De Vere Carden Park Hotel and Golf club this weekend for an overnight stay. I was looking forward to some rest and relaxation, having made several trips to the NW over recent weeks. I have stayed at this hotel before and I am also quite fond of the Cheshire countryside where the hotel is situated, close to the historic city of Chester and the Welsh Border.
The hotel itself is in fact a large hotel on a 17th century estate (with vineyard) and encompassing a fantastic Espa Health and beauty Spa and leisure facilities. There are 45 holes of golf on three courses - including a Nicklaus course, a driving range, outdoor activities such as quad biking and archery, all within its 750 acres. To get an idea of how large that is, the curving driveway from the main gate must be well over a mile...

Wotif everything was this simple?
Review of wotif.com by
starbury
Advantages: Great value, no ads, book within 4 clicks !!!!
Disadvantages: Can only book two weeks in advance !
...I have just started using Wotif.com after a friend recommended it. He had just been to stay at the St Andrews Golf course 5* Hotel and not only got a discount but it included a round of golf, breakfast and access to all the spa and fitness facilities !
That is where the real value can be found, when you float the mouse over a room price not only is the price discounted (I recently booked one in London with a 70% discount) but a small box appears telling you what is included. This usually contains breakfast, parking etc but on some hotels it includes trips, rounds of golf, dinner, fitness centre's, spa's, car hire etc.
From the homepage to booking can take as little as 4 clicks Home - Region - Hotel Details - Book and all the information is really easy to find.
The London hotel that I stayed in was excellent. I needed one short notice...

Fabulous Holiday!
Review of Marriott Denia La Sella Golf Resort & Spa, Denia by
LadyTraveller
Advantages: Beautiful setting, luxurious rooms very family friendly
Disadvantages: "Golf view" rooms can also overlook the car park!
...We went to The Marriot La Sella Golf Resort in August 2005 with our two children 12 & 7 for 5 nights.
The hotel is stunning. Immaculate in every way, beautiful pool area and the rooms were excellent with adequate air-conditioning, all the facilities you could possibly ask for but best of all... 2 x double beds in the room with plenty of wardrobe space, it meant no rollaway beds for the kids and a good nights sleep- You don't get that in many Spanish Hotels!
Although travelling with our two children we try to always stay in quality accomodation. Sometimes we find that hotels of 5* standards are not particularly well suited to families but La Sella is possibly one of the most child friendly hotels we have ever been to. The kids rep Christina was amazing! She was there all day from 10am to 10pm as far as we could tell, and kept the kids...

Another quality hotel
Review of Radisson SAS Hotel, Limavady, Northern Ireland by
fish1es
Advantages: Secluded, good location
Disadvantages: Breakfast could have been better
...I recently stayed in the Radisson roe resort in Limavady, Northern Ireland. The hotel itself is primarily aimed towards golfers, with it' own golf course, but I went as I know the Radisson is a good hotel chain & also the spa facilities looked gorgeous.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of the town of Limavady, about 20 miles from the city of Derry, & about 60 miles from Belfast. It is located beside the end of the new Limavady bypass, so is easy to find. It is also signposted well from the town itself.
The hotel is located along a windy long road, which takes you past the golf course. The hotel itself is a collection of buildings all enclosed in a walled garden. The hotel complex consists of the actual hotel, the spa building, a restaurant, a grill bar and the gold facilities. The hotel itself is massive with a bar area...

It's not MY kind of place but it's a great hotel
Review of Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa, Algarve, Portugal by
koshkha
Advantages: Great conference venue
Disadvantages: There's not a lot in the area if you don't like golf
...The Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort and Spa (henceforth to be referred to more simply as the Hilton Vilamoura) is an enigma of a hotel - it's a five star resort with beautiful interiors but one that looks from the outside like it was designed by Disney. It's absolutely not the type of place that I'd ever choose to stay in because I just don't do holidays in this sort of destination and it's not the type of place you'd usually go to for business - for one thing there's nothing around here to do business with. So it was a new experience for me to visit such a place - although I'm quite relieved we've been here during the 'off season' when there weren't too many people around.
The company I work for holds an annual business meeting and invites people from the European team plus visitors from the other regions. For three days...

Golf, 21st century
Review of Everything that starts with G ... by
herbb
Advantages: Hawaii´s number one
Disadvantages: far away
...The north shore of the island of Kauai features stunning scenery:
steep mountain cliffs above the Pacific, beautiful Hanalei Bay with humpbacks and orcas abound and Princeville, a world class resort with its own airport, a magnificent hotel, condominiums and two golf courses: the 27 hole "Makai" Course and Hawaii´s #1, "The Prince" with 18 challenging holes designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
If you drive there from Lihue by car it will take you some 40 minutes to get there, during rush periods it can be a full hour. Since its opening in 1990 this course spans some 400 acres of prime coastal real estate bisected with tropical jungles, waterfalls, creeks and ravines.
The clubhouse is built on two levels, offers a panoramic restaurant, a bar, a conference room, a spa and a pro shop, that is so well equipped you...

Any port in a (desert) storm
Review of Sofitel Agadir, Agadir by
andyk910
Advantages: Lovely hotel, fun and quiet, great beach
Disadvantages: Not really worth 5 stars, bit isolated, not family friendly
...most things, but I may have missed the fine details on a few items.
**Cost**
This is a luxury resort and spa hotel but is cheaper than many others. Indeed, this will probably be cheaper than a far less grand hotel elsewhere, say London or Paris. It is not cheap, as such, and you can certainly find cheaper in Morocco, but this is quite affordable luxury. My partner and I stayed 7 nights on a package holiday on a half board basis, in a deluxe room and including direct flights from our local airport and all in-country transfers and the cost in total was less than £1600 - not bad for a week in a 5-star. This did include things like the gym, beach towels and so on but did not include any drinks (or even water), any water sports or spa treatments. Also, dinner was only available from one restaurant, eating in any of the other restaurants...

Welcombe: Spa,Gym,Golf or Wedding???
Review of Welcombe Hotel and Golf Course, Stratford-upon-Avon by
evina25
Advantages: Picturesque surroundings,large rooms,very clean,historical building
Disadvantages: Pricey for some
...Welcombe Hotel,Spa&Golf Course
I have recently spent two weeks in the most beautiful hotel I've seen in UK! The Menzies Welcombe Hotel, Spa & Golf Course. The hotel is a part of a hotel chain called Menzies Hotels! It is a 4**** hotel set in the middle of 157 acres of land, surrounded by a 18 holes championship golf course and attached to a spa complex with swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, beauty shop & separate apartments.
You only need to travel about a mile outside Shakespeare's birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon and it is very well signposted by large blue signs from the main Warwick Road.
It is trully large impressive manor house that will take your breath away as you enter! The reception and lounge are absolutely huge and filled with period furniture and massive oil paintings (all original)! The wooden staircase will take you up two...
