...My son was given the V-Tech Sort ‘n Go Car as a present when he was 6 months old. Initially I thought it was too old for him (recommended age 12 months +) but as it didn’t have any small parts that he could eat and I let him play with it and it’s been one of his favourites ever since. It is a VW-style pull-along yellow car with five shapes inside, a purple heart, a red square, a yellow triangle, a green star and a blue circle, that fit through the ‘window’ holes of the car and come out through the boot. It also makes lots of different noises by either pulling the car along the floor or pushing the buttons in each shape hole. ...between finishing our work for the day and meeting for dinner. Go Cars were the perfect gap filler. You may not have heard of Go Cars and that's fair enough because they are very new to Barcelona although they are longer-established in other cities such as Miami, San Diego and San Francisco (though goodness knows how they get up the hills in San Francisco). Go Cars are so new in fact that the locals in Barcelona still find them interesting and amusing and other tourists will treat you almost like a celebrity - so you should expect to have your photo taken LOTS of times. I can't help thinking the amusement factor which leads other drivers to wave and smile and toot in a 'non-threatening' manner, will wear off quite quickly and within a few months, these little yellow vehicles will become the focus of a lot of Iberian road-rage incidents... ...I’m currently in the process of collecting all my favourite vinyl albums on CD and finding some real bargains in the process. My latest acquisition at a mere £4.99 from Our Price is Elton John’s classic double album ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’. I can vividly remember buying the original version on a day trip to London, just before Christmas in 1973. I went with some of my friends on the train, no mean feat in those days from the Shropshire backwaters and bought it from what I believe to be Virgin’s first music shop in Oxford Street. Nearly thirty years ago – doesn’t time fly! And yet the music and the memories are as fresh as ever. Goodbye Yellowbrick Road was the peak of Elton's fabulous ride through the 70s. ...to finish that maths homework sitting precariously on my bedroom table (Da da da da!). WHAT IS ‘WHAT CAR?’ It’s a car magazine. What more do you want! Sorry, I’ll try harder. What Car? comes from one branch of the ‘Which’ company, which also runs a magazine for things such as phones and caravans. Of all of them though What Car? has come out on top and can be seen in most areas. It’s a monthly magazine. So you’d expect it to be long and it is. More like the Yellow Pages than a magazine, although I’d just add that a lot of pages are advertisements and most aren’t even cars. It’s not a unique magazine as some of the cars they test, also appear in other mags, but it’s interesting to see the different opinions of other motoring journalists too, as they try to praise... A few pounds on cleaning EVERY item, cheap batteries so kids toys work, or a light bulb for that lamp. All this makes a big impact. Stickers for pricing. Ideally, yellow ones as white can glare. Price every item, buyers are to shy ask how much things cost as they are frightened the cost is too high. Alot of people like to pick up an item, pay, and move on. Ensure the price is written big and is not confusing. Package and box everything carefully. Anything breakable then wrap it. Once i had a crystal vase which i had priced at £20, but upon setting up i found a nice chip in it. By the end of saturday afternoon everthing will be priced, box and ready to go. ...When hubs and Eilidh went shopping at Christmas this was the toy that they came back for as Eilidh's present to Murray! Off course it was from the Early Learning Centre, it is our favourite toy shop! Costing, £20 you get a large box which is open at the front allowing you to see the car. This toys was extremely hard to get out of all the packaging, so it is advisable to not have a tantrummy child to remove it before showing them the car! The car itself is a sky blue colour, with a red rim round the bottom of the car. It is an open topped car with one seat. The seat is green. It also has a spoiler on the back too! This doubles as a carry handle which is handy for little hands! On the underneath at the back is a yellow exhaust. It's large like a boy racer car one!
