... PARIS - Yves Saint Laurent I just adore the perfumes of Yves Saint Laurent. There are so many I like from this one maker. All very distinctive too. His 'Y' is the most beautiful fragrance, as is Rive Gauche, Baby Doll and many others. Paris is one of my firm favourites, and one of the first I owned of his. Paris comes in a salmon pink, gold, and black square box. Quite chunky, like the perfume. The bottle is dimpled, clear glass, quite squat and round, like a squashed ball. It has a black and pink chubby top to it. With Yves Saint Laurent written in gold lettering to the front of the bottle. There is nothing really feminine, or particularly attractive about the bottle, and the basic looking bottle belies the perfume inside. ...I love perfume. I cant live without it. I cant get dressed after a bath and not wear perfume. Its like eating and breathing. I have tried almost all well known French favourites and I always come back to two perfumes which are so feminine and so sex. One is EL Beautiful and the other is Paris. Paris has a scent which lasts longer than most and if you happen to get caught in the rain and get drenched when wearing Paris the scent is overpoweringly wanton. Itts like being in a paddock of hay and grass & wild flowers with a sexy gorgeous country boy with one thing on his mind - and yours - its is so overtly feminine I doubt any male could resist a woman wearing Paris and also dressed in very feminine clothes - it is not like some of the new perfumes which are masculine and uni sex- ( yukkk) its all woman, all... ...their “best or expensive” perfume for special occasions. Sod it I say, I wear it every day and people are always remarking how nice I smell (either that or they are just being polite). It makes me feel fresh, sassy, confident and sexy all at the same time. Paris is the product of Yves Saint Laurent and comes in various sizes and packages. I can only speak of the Eau de Toilette Spray range which comes in 125, 75, 50 & 30ml bottles, and I believe there is also another smaller bottle although I’ve yet find it. The bottles are also attractively packaged. I generally purchase the 50ml bottle, which comes in at around £25, but this depends on where you buy it. The cheapest I’ve ever bought this size was for £20 via the Internet. This size of bottle seems to last me about 9 – 11 months and I wear it every day. I have also... Read review

...We women are a tricky lot.......and recommending a perfume is just looking for trouble. Of all our senses, to me, smell is the strongest. Smells remind us of people and places, good times and bad. I’m not a great one for changing my perfume - I tend to stick to the ones I know smell nice on me – so when I was given Paris, by Yves Saint Lauren, rather than my usual perfume, as a present, I was a litle dissapointed. NEVER WAS I SO WRONG. It's just my sort of perfume...I like light, flowery scents, nothing over-powering, as tend to get headaches if they are too heavy. ...One day at a store I tried a sample and thought it was ok and bought a bottle, then after a few hours of walking around I felt ill and had a headache and it was all down to the smell of "Paris". The day after I returned it to the shop unopened and got a refund. It's the most sweetest and sickliest perfume I have ever smelt if anybody was ever to buy me it as a present I think I'd throw it back at them ha ha I'm only kidding I wouldn't be that wicked but I'd would definitely give it away as long as that person wasn't very close to me because I couldn't stomach the smell of it. ...As a fan of Paris, I thought I'd have a squirt of this at the perfume counter, boy was I wrong!! It is one of the most disgusting smells that I've ever tried!!! It smells like a bag of sweets, candy and sugary stuff, absolutley gross!!! The bottle was ok, more like a squashed version of the Paris bottle, but ok, it's a bit on the expensive side, and you don't get much for your money! I thought it was horrible, although it had good staying power, as it took me quite a while to wash it off my wrist. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who likes smelling nice and fresh, this is very sickly and sweet. Avoid this one on the perfume counter and if you want that smell, buy a bag of sweets instead, it's cheaper and won't make you as sick as the perfume would!... Read review

...When I got married last year, I wanted an established scent, not something that's here for a year or two and then you never see it again. I wanted to be able to go into a shop a few years later and buy it again. I thought about all the perfumes I wore when I was younger and which ones would appeal to this special occasion. I did think about Ck1 but then decided it wasn't the right sort of smell for a bride. Years before my mother had always worn Paris and the smell of it on her was always lovely and fresh and special, so I opted for that. On the day, my Chief Bridesmaid took it upon herself to keep squirting me with the stuff, it was quite funny really, anything to relieve the stress and pressure, but I didn't want to to smell like a perfume counter.
