I HAVE NOW GOT £100 COMPENSATION FROM SUNSTAR, THIS IS AFTER PHONE CALL AFTER PHONE CALL/THEY DO NOT EVEN ACCEPT THAT A FURTHER CLAIM FOR MY PARENTS HOLIDAY HAS EVER BEEN RECIEVED BY THEM. PLEASE ACCEPT THIS COMPANY FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE, AND DONT HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE LIKE MY FAMILY DID.
ORIGINAL OP. I booked a holiday to go to kos about 6 months before we travelled. On arrival at the airport in Kos, the rep told us that we were not going to the hotel that we have booked and would be putting us in a 'half' bulit hotel. None of us would except this, so we stayed in the hotel reception, after 8 hours and a lot of upset they found us a room in the hotel we should of been staying. With it in mind, it was 4 in the morning and it was the worst possible start we could of had. My parents called the UK offices to try and find out what the problem was, they were unhelpful and blamed a management decision. They said there was nothing that they could do. After a terrible week at the hotel, i am still awaiting a response to my complaint.
Unfortunately, We gave the company another chance, my parents landed in Rhodes this morning, it was a late booking through sunstar, still not cheap, so there should be no excuses. ITS HAPPENED AGAIN.
They are supposed to be staying at the Rodos village hotel, but there is no room at the inn? It was only booked a week ago, so how can this be?
Once again they were told at the airport that they will be put in another hotel, one that is not all inclusive for the first night, then they will have to see what happens?
Once a year we save to go on holiday and this is how we are treated.
I telephoned the uk offices and asked to speak to a manager, the girl put me through and i heard her say, its another one about the same thing.
The manager said he did not have to give me his name at the point, but he also said that he was the only manager on duty, this call was made at 2.00pm 21st september, so it wouldnt be hard to find out who he was. He said they wouldnt help and told me to ring rhodes directly. I explained that the bookings are made with sunstar and he said it was still nothing to do with them.
So at the moment my parents are hovering between hotels somewhere in Rhodes, what a great start to the holiday.
please dont book with them, i would hate it to happen to other families, what if you have children with you?THEY ARE VERY QUICK TO TAKE YOUR BOOKING AND YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE YOU WITH A NIGHTMARE SITUATION.
I will update this when i get more information. In the meantime, fingers crossed that my parents have a good holiday, its what they work for all year.
3.30pm, it just got worst.
They have been taken to the hotel rodos princess and again there is no room, so they have been put in a 3 star hotel which is not to there liking. Well they have paid for 5 star all inclusive.

The same happened to me in June 2003.
Supposed to be an all inclusive in Majorca in Palma Nova.....guess what it was over booked and Sunstar knew about this the day before arrival and never told us.They shipped us to a half board hotel above the main street in Magaluf then the next day we had another hotel!!!! nightmare.
It took just over 6 yes 6 months to get some money out of them only 60 pounds though.

Sounds like a nightmare, but hey, I was actually there and the so called half finished hotel was classes better than the one booked... the only unfinished part was the pool. Beautiful place however. Going back again.
