It's nothing but a pub
Review of The Oxford by Azran

Advantages: fairly cheap, clean, friendly bar staff
Disadvantages: nothing special, little "atmosphere", lack lustre menu (ok food though)

The Oxford is a fairly unassuming pub, situated on Oxford Road in Manchester next to the Royal Infirmary and Manchester University. It is a fairly bland, souless, chain-esque venue, lacking in anything unique or charming. Having said that it isn't object ... Read review

I wanna hold your (Big) Hands
Review of Big Hands by Azran

Advantages: Fantastic Atmosphere, Great Choice of drinks, nice clientelle, "brilliant" decor
Disadvantages: a little pricey, the toilets (though they have a unique "charm" as well!)

Big Hands is one of Manchesters true "hidden gems". Located on Oxford Road just after the University and just before the start of the Curry Mile. from the outside it looks completely unimposing (the heavily graffitied back wall aside), sandwiched between ... Read review

Caffè Nero is my Coffee Hero.

Advantages: Cheaper, Much better quality coffee than Starbucks, Reward scheme is great
Disadvantages: Frappe Latte is not that great

Caffe Nero provides first-class coffee that surpasses that of other leading high street coffee houses such as Starbucks and Pret a Manger. Walking into a Nero is like finding an oasis in the desert that is city life. Caffe Nero definitely live up to their ... Read review

Review of The Old Pint Pot by icebreakingsamisback

This is a lovely little pub in the summer months great to sit outside, seems to lack something.....can put my finger on it. could be a great place with all the up and coming development round that area. could do with a good clean and a lick of paint as it looks a bit tired. potential makings of a great local!!

Coildn't agree with you more. Such a lovely name for the hotel, and as you say the grounds are great but that is it. We had the misfortune to stay here a few years ago, but I would never go back. by supercityfan
Shame it didn't live up to the standard that you expected it to. It looks nice from the photo and £64 is very cheap considering you got champagne on arrival too. :) by anonymili
