We went to Harry Ramsdens on Mondat 23rd June for a treat. Arrived at 8.20 to find it was shutting. Remember this is the last week in June and it is Blackpool. So no Harry's. Blackpool was deserted and very run dow. If you shut up shop early then people will just drift away to places that do cater. It is a self fulfilling prophecy to say we dont get any trade after 8.00. We had our meal in a little Restaurant on the South side in the English Rose Restaurant. Very nice but not good enough Blackpool. Next day we cancelled our booking and went to York. Great!!

just returned from a four night break. great! service was good and I am sure they must have the best chef in blackpool. food was superb and a great variety. the entertainment was of a high standard. one small complaint- the en-suite was very small, when sitting down knees were almost touching the wall. otherwise I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

On the quiet sea front, the staff are friendly and efficient and the food for breakfast and supper is nourishing and plentiful! Clean beds and a change of towels every day exceeds the 2 star rating. Evening caberets are of high quality and entertaining. The tramcar or bus to Blackpool stops at the front of the hotel every 10 minutes. A relaxing atmosphere.

Advantages: In a good spot near the Pleasure Beach
Disadvantages: Too expensive for that type of hotel

Advantages: Nostalgic, family entertainment at a fair price.
Disadvantages: The weather! Good eating houses away from the Pier are a long walk.

This is a lovely, perfectly located family and I mean family only hotel.No hen or stag parties. You could not wish for a more. My family and I stayed here for the bank holiday in may. The breakfast was great. A big fry up pot of tea or cereal if you prefer and more toast than you can shake a stick at, and the couple who own the hotel couldn't do enough for you. The Hotel is in the heart of the family end of Blackpool 2mins wark from the south pier.. Big thanks for short break.Will absolutely be coming back

Glad it's not just me that has a bit of a grumble about getting too many chips. I never thought it'd be something I'd moan about. The Harry Ramsden's you mention I have never been in, but I have been passed it many times and it always seems to be full. It's just a little bit too expensive for me. by kell.b
