Having a Swiss mother, we holiday in this beautiful country every other year, and make the town of Interlaken our base. The restuarant Zum Baeren is one of our favourites, the food is always of good quality and the staff very hospitable and welcoming - not always easy when on our last holiday we presented them regularly with the requirement to seat 9 of us and a 2 year old! - although we did make sure we booked with them first. Dishes are traditionally Swiss The Rosti, calves liver, fondues, steaks and pork dishes are particulalrly noteworthy, their salads too are also worthy of a mention. Looking forward very much to this summer to renew our acquaintance with the 'Baeren'.

Advantages: Almost perfect

Advantages: Great value, friendly and accommodating staff and clean rooms
Disadvantages: Some way from the UK.
