The discreet charm of the Casa San Blas
Review of Casa San Blas, Cusco by torr

Advantages: A five-star stay…
Disadvantages: …with just three-star facilities

Why does one like or dislike a hotel? Sometimes the reasons are obvious - a clean, polite place will beat a rude, slovenly one in anyone's book - but sometimes they're not. Naturally, the criteria vary from person to person. In my own case, having s ... Read review

The Price of Peacefulness
Review of Santa Catalina Convent, Arequipa, Peru by torr

Advantages: Intriguing past, beautiful interiors, peaceful atmosphere
Disadvantages: The history that made it possible

The convent of Santa Catalina doesn't look much from the outside. Its long outer wall blanks off one side of an otherwise busy street near Arequipa's central square. Arequipa is known as the "white city" because much of it is built of sillar, the loca ... Read review

Review of Machu Picchu, Peru by torr

Advantages: Majestic setting, fascinating relics and history
Disadvantages: Your fellow-visitors, risk of poor visibility, cost

Yes, it looks just like in the photographs. Perched high amid improbably pointy peaks, with sheer slopes dropping away to either side. After you've craned your neck to peer down into the deep canyons, you can gaze up at the surrounding ring of equally ... Read review

A priceless experience
Review of Inkaterra Pueblo Hotel, Machu Picchu by torr

Advantages: Possibly the best hotel I've ever stayed in
Disadvantages: Possibly the most expensive too

"I don't care what we're paying; it's worth it." This is not a sentiment often voiced in our value-conscious family, but as we sat sated by dinner at our window table overlooking the Urubamba gorge, I found myself not only unsurprised to hear my wife s ... Read review

walking the Inca Trail before you die
Review of Inca Trail - Peru by flyflitflo

Advantages: A must see, one of The Seven Wonders of The World
Disadvantages: It will always be expensive

Walking the Inca Trail is one of those 'do before you die' experiences so although it is not the cheapest of holidays, if its something you have always wanted to do then don't put it of any longer. I walked it in July 2007, the company I went with was Ll ... Read review

Disadvantages: Long and expensive flights. You must speak spanish

Peru is a place that you will visit and it will change your life. After spending 6 weeks there in summer 2004 it felt like a 2nd home and was very difficult to leave. To start off with the flights are very expensive to get there costing around £600. We fo ... Read review

good but try a few paragraphs :-) by earlofaldgate
a nice review, but what the others said, if you paragraph your reviews, it will help the structuring too, try reading around some other travel reviews to see what sort of detail is required....also, i would suggest proof reading before submitting, i found some sentances a bit difficult to understand and had to read back over them, other than that though some really good information and tips in there! x by tazzywazzy

Oh, do tell me more! I would absolutely love to visit one day! I realise that English is not your first language but I think it would make it easier to read if you run this through an English spell check, as there are some mistakes in there. Still fascinating though. anna by annaroos1

Lake Titicaca & the floating Uros Islands
Review of Lake Titicaca by Sandroulla

Advantages: Spectacular Scenery, unique experience on the floating islands
Disadvantages: 4,300metres above sea level - which means altitude problems!

I began my visit at Puno, which lies on the shore of the lake. The town is 4,300m above sea level, so the air is thin and I was grateful that the receptionist in the hotel offered to send a cup of coca tea straight up to my room when I checked in. This is ... Read review
