Quick review of Mount Merapi (Gunung Merapi), Bukittinggi, Sumatra
Review of Mount Merapi (Gunung Merapi), Bukittinggi, Sumatra by zombino

If you want to make the climb, make sure you bring along plenty of drinking water. The climb itself takes about 5 hours, just make sure that you do not leave the trail, it is easy to get lost. Do the right thing and get a local guide for a few thousand rupiahs if you dont want to do it alone.

Ugh - we absolutely haaaated Medan (see my review of Lake Toba for an idea!) - may spend some time doing a review on Medan, but then again, as it was so crap... maybe not! I've done a few SEA reviews if you are interested ;o) Soph by SophieWehr
I'm sorry you had such a nasty experience. I was born in medan and still go back there at least once a year and though I agree they could have improve on the hygiene of the city, I disagree on your op about the food. I love th food there and maybe you just have the bad luck of trying bad places. Better luck next time and if you planning to go there again, email me and I can suggest some places to you :) - Mala by babyenne
