Outspan in Israel
Review of Eilat (Israel) by lynlewjustjay

Advantages: relaxing, friendly, clean, lots to do
Disadvantages: long flight, guns in view, airport politics

We went to Eilat for our honeymoon in March 2006. I was 7 months pregnant at the time so knew I would be limited to do all activities, but this wouldn't stop my husband. I found booking the holiday hard as their are only a few operators that go to Isr ... Read review

I spent a fortnight in Eilat in 1996, and it’s not a place I’d ever want to go back to! I found there was very little to do there. It was incredibly expensive and most of the locals were rather unfriendly. I found the airport security rather oppressive too - both inbound and outbound. Lexy by Bollinger28
great review. i used to live about 30 mins north of eilat, and go back regularly... it is developing at such a quick rate and gets better and better each year. love the fact that you feel completely safe there and would reccommend it to everyone. by Funzo

as below, more info needed for better ratings, but still a good first review staz x by x-staz-x
Quite a promising start, Sorry for the low rating, but I think that your Review needs a lot more information and detail to justify a higher rating. Hotel reviews need lots of info from cost, to detail about your room, to food (quality, quantity and price) customer service etc . You might find it helpful if you read and rate some other peoples’ reviews (especially those that have been rated VH or E). It might give you an idea of the sort of things you need to include. If I can be of any help or if you decide to amend your review feel free to put a note in my gb, I’ll be happy to re-read and re-rate. Rich by RichPrice

Advantages: Warm, Differant, Lots to do...
Disadvantages: Too much to do in a week

My daughter has lived in Eilat for many years, and I myself finally went out there last year, not sure what to expect. But I was pleasantly suprised... Eilat is a busy and young city, with so much to do in the day as well as the night. There are so ... Read review

Review of Eilat (Israel) by sheli

Advantages: sea, sun and more if affinities

I have lived in Israel for almost 3 years now and I plan to deliver my opinion each site which I visited. Eilat...priviledged destination of the fortunate French, the rich Americans... and the young people without a penny who will camp in a field. ... Read review

I must admit, I was really dissapointed when I went here a few years ago, the Diving was excellent, but the place itself was awful, and the people very ignorant indeed, this is a nice easy to read review though........Roy by n13roy

I was there Christmas and New Year 1999 and loved the fact that I was away from uk! Great review. by danielalong
There are actually very few kosher restaurants in Eilat outside of the hotels. In the predominantly secular country of Israel, Eilat is the most secular of towns. You can easily find restaurants serving shellfish, pork or whatever you want, all with a cream sauce. No kosher restaurant would have a problem serving a fish starter before a meat meal. If you asked for them on the same plate a polite waiter may have gently refused. I find it unlikely that you would have insulted anyone as the prohibition against serving meat and fish together is esoteric and unknown to most Jews and certainly most Israelis. As for the M16 wielding waiter... you could simply have reported him to the police for his threatening behaviour if this even happened. I remain dubious. by danielse

Eilat, is the glamourous holiday resort in Israel, situated next to the the desert, (similar to Las Vegas in that way)It is also next to the sea. Being Jewish, and with half my family living in Israel, I go to Jerusalem a lot, but i much prefer Eilat. Isr ... Read review
