Do make time to visit this unique place
Review of Jordan Valley Marriott Dead Sea Resort and Spa by andyk910

Advantages: Unique experience, luxury spa, real get-away-from-it-all
Disadvantages: Not cheap, long way away from anything else, could be boring?

Introduction The Dead Sea is the lowest place on earth. The water surface of the Dead Sea is about 410m below sea level right now (it is dropping by about 1m per annum at the moment – more about that later). It is a unique place. Most of us can’t get t ... Read review

Not overwhelmed by Amman
Review of Amman (Jordan) by Katieshaz

Advantages: Cheap, cultural
Disadvantages: Boring, dusty, leering men, lack of pavements

I was in Amman for some time with my job and I found it an interesting but also a very strange place! Getting there: I flew with Royal Jordanian from Heathrow. British Mediterranean also does direct flights. Return flights tend to cost around £300 but ... Read review

Great review - always interesting to read travel reviews! x by frankiecesca
Interesting insight in to Amman - I am sorry you did not enjoy life there (I think I read that somewhere else) but your article certainly encourages one to visit and it is on my list of places to see one day (problem is that the list is rather long). Thanks though for this - very good stuff as I come to expect from your writing. by andrewfleminguk

Quick review of Alcazar Hotel, Aqaba
Review of Alcazar Hotel, Aqaba by Vegter

Although it looks a bit run down and has lost is past grandeur, there is basically nothing wrong with this comfortable, UK/owned hotel. The English speaking staff is extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are very spacious and all have a balcony. There is a video room, the pool is good and the hotel is conveniently located in the centre. The kitchen is good and safe. Trips to Petra, Wadi Rum and to less frequented Bedouin camps can be arranged. Divers will be interested to know that the hotel is liaised to the Murjan club, where the well managed Padi Sea Star Divers are based.

It's somewhere I have always wanted to visit, but the cost of the visa to get there was so prohibitive when we were staying in nearby Eilat, that we gave up on that day trip. Out of interest, how long does it take to get there, and can you go by any other means than walking? Lexy by Bollinger28

Is this really a 4 Star hotel?

Disadvantages: Unhelpful staff, the food,

Review of Wadi Rum (Jordan) by sidinz

Advantages: An experience of a lifetime
Disadvantages: Harder to get to than other destinations, lack of facilities
