I often visit Townley Hall with my four year old god-daughter and we both love going there. It is a massive old mansion that was used by the Townley family and they only moved out about 20 years ago. I remember going to Townley Hall on a school trip and I loved the guided tour as you get shown all the monks hiding holes. It is a very educational place for children aged 4+. There is a nice, clean park which appeals to children of all ages. There is also a nice cafe besides Townley Hall. All of these are easily accessible by wheelchair users. They run nature trails and you can walk through the woods. There is also a bowling green. I think it is a perfect place to go for a day out and it has activities that attract people of all ages. Throughout the summer they hold special events such as classic car shows and they recently held the annual hot air balloon festival which was really enjoyable. You should be able to find more details on the special events through townley halls website. Townley Hall is signposted on the M65 and is near Burnley town centre. There are plenty of parking spaces and there is a beautiful garden centre next door. All in all I really enjoy going to Townley Hall and have done since I was a child.
